Educational Enrichment Course:
This is a painting from an enrichment course created for children (ages 5-10) to learn about our expanding universe. The idea behind this curriculum is to give children a sense of connectedness by making them realise that nothing in our universe is separate. That we are all part of one whole.

I am currently working on a book that connects everyday experiences with children to philosophy called: On Love, Longing and a Sense of Wholeness.

Philosophy Event:
What is it that makes us want to retreat from society - to go into the wild - and what is it that brings us back?
This is a photo from a night of philosophical inquiry and painting about our personal attachment to the world we live in.
The session was run in partnership with philosopher, Olivia Everist.
Since 2009 I have co-hosted similar evenings in a number of cities. Some of these events are organised in partnership with charities, schools and corporations.
Topics have included: Consciousness, Happiness, Education, Economics, Ethics, Love, Language, Governance and Creativity.

Event: Philosophical Supper Clubs
What is love? What are the various type of love we experience? How do we grow through love?

Educational Enrichment Course
Children need to feel empowered that their ideas have value, that life is less about "being right" and more about building confidence to ask questions and learn through open non-judgemental conversation.
This curriculum builds upon the "Philosophy for Children (P4C) curriculum" by incorporating art into the exploration of ancient philosophical ideas and values.

Event: Philosophical Supper Clubs

Beauty in mathematics is seeing the truth without effort - George Polya
My mother (a maths teacher with 30 years experience) and I run workshops aimed at connecting numbers to real-life contexts, to higher-level conceptual understanding, to nature and everyday experiences.
These sessions include: (1) Dice Games, where we learn strategy & critical thinking; (2) Nature Walks, where we explore symmetry/asymmetry, order/disorder and have fun with fractals; (3) Create art w mathematical reasoning, discuss ratios/dimensions and perspective -- making "times-tables" come to life.
This video gives you a sense of how I think we should inspire children to embrace mathematics:

Educational Enrichment Course: Course designed for children (ages 4-10) around the mating practices of the natural world.
The intension is for children to gain an understanding of wonder as well as the mechanics of mating.

Educational Enrichment Course:
Designed for children (ages 5-10) in order to nurture a more positive and nuanced language around separation and divorce; replacing negative words like "broken-family" with positive ones like "expanded families."
Educational Enrichment Course:
This is a workshop for children (ages 6-12) to learn about what Plato had to say about reality and illusion. Activities include making shadow puppets to dance on walls.

Philosophical events for grown-ups focused our capacity to make choices:
On an average day, on what occasions do you feel completely free to make a choice that is your own? Under what circumstances do you feel most empowered to influence a person or a group? What types of things (i.e. rules/values/norms/economics) act as constraints for you to make changes to your own life path or the world around you?
Since 2009 I have co-hosted similar evenings in a number of cities. Some of these events are organised in partnership with other individuals, as well as charities, schools and corporations.

Educational Enrichment: There is nothing more fun for a child than to be given a large canvass and the freedom to explore painting in the spirit of Jackson Pollock.
This is a series of workshops run at Kindred Studios, where children (of all ages) explore painting like Pollock, Kline, Rothko Auerbach and Reinhardt.

Educational Enrichment Course
This is an educational enrichment workshop (ages 6-12) where children create story boards that honour Africa's most sacred tree: The Baobab.
The story begins with five children who find themselves stranded on an island (off the coast of East Africa) after being separated from their parents in a sandstorm. The island has only one large Baobab tree on it. This magical Baobab is able to sing and pass on messages from ancient times.
Working in small groups, children work collaboratively to build a narrative. They use the legend of the Baobab to reflect moral messaging, namely: What happens when you're never satisfied with what you have?
The original legend: The baobab was among the first trees to appear on the land. Next came the slender, graceful palm tree. When the baobab saw the palm tree, it cried out that it wanted to be taller. Then the beautiful flame tree appeared with its red flower and the baobab was envious for flower blossoms. When the baobab saw the magnificent fig tree, it prayed for fruit as well. God became tired of the complaints and so yanked it up by its roots, and placed it upside down to keep it quiet. All the animals were alarmed, and so was the huge tree. For after that, the magnificent tree only grew leaves once a year. The other months the roots seemed to bend and grow towards the sky.
Educational Enrichment Course
Designed for children of all ages to create awareness around our precious natural resources. There is a particular emphasis on water and waste.

This was a graffiti project I worked on with my daughters.
